UNDER THE ROCK WITH CORKY LAING OF MOUNTAIN
Weekdays at 9:40 am, 4:40 pm, and 11 pm. The Music . The Bands. The Groupies. Finally … a radio series that tears down the barriers to bring your listeners the true stories behind the stories of rock’ n roll! Corky Laing was there and he knows what really happened! As drummer for Mountain, the Canadian native Laurence "Corky" Laing makes no bones about the company he’s kept. His resume is dotted with rock hierarchy: Eric Clapton and Meatloaf, toured with Deep Purple … partied with Keith Moon and Jimi Hendrix … hung out with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards … sang backup vocals for John Lennon … and co wrote one of rock’s signature songs, "Mississippi Queen". Under The Rock with Corky Laing is an honest, first person account of a rock musician’s adventures on the road … in the studio … and backstage.
THE DEEP END
ROCK 104's Deep End with Nick Michaels gives voice to a time when music mattered and songs had the power to evoke social change: the 60s and 70s. Sounds, words and music transport you back, with stories that reveal the emotions fueling the creation of that music. Here all the acts that played together at Woodstock are reunited. It’s a show for those who’ve had a life-long love affair with their music, and for those who wonder what the fuss is all about. Anticipation, excitement and wide-eyed discovery swirl in The Deep End, Saturday mornings from 10 am - 12 noon, and Sunday nights from 8 - 10 pm on ROCK 104.
