SANTA ROCKS!
Did you see us? Rock 104 was all lit up with the Christmas spirit during the Santa Claus Light-Up Parade in Olds on November 28th.

Everything was just beautiful ... Centennial Park was transformed into a winter wonderland with a spectacular light display of the Kiwanis Heritage Village, there was lots of food and entertainment for the entire family.

Santa and Mrs Claus were there, and we're pretty sure they thought the highlight of the parade was Rock 104!

WE SAW "CHEAP SUNGLASSES"!
Yeah, that's right ... it's ZZ Top!! Famous for their chest-length beards and searing style of Texas blues rock, the legendary ZZ Top ruled the charts in the '70s and '80s with smash hits like "Legs" "Cheap Sunglasses", "Sleeping Bag", and "Sharp Dressed Man". Members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ZZ Top recently released a thrilling concert DVD, "Live From Texas". Inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, thanks to Your Concert Connection, Rock 104 had tickets to their Double Down Live tour at the Pengrowth Saddledome on Tuesday, December 1st.

OLDBURY WINS ROCK 104 STAR SEARCH!
ROCK 104 proudly presented the second annual ROCK star Talent Search this fall. We had a great selection for our next shining star, with the winner receiving a professional recording from MuzikHaus in Three Hills! Their single will be played in regular rotation on Rock 104, and open doors for performances they would never otherwise get!!

And the winner is: Oldbury! This smokin hot, yet creamy sound is the perfect blend of everything you love from live rock. Their music touches all four corners of the rock spectrum: from an all out assault on your senses to groovy head-boppin, hip-shakin' melodies.

One year ago, the all new Rock 104 was born and to celebrate, we threw a party ... and we went big!

They have had multi platinum and gold albums, 21 "Top 40" hits through their career, and they rocked the Olds Ag Society Grandstand at the end of July ...

APRIL WINE LIVE IN OLDS!!!

In 2009, April Wine enters into their 40th year as a band ... quite an accomplishment for any rock n' roll band! In March this year, the band was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame and received a lifetime achievement award. Hits like "Rock 'n Roll is a Vicious Game", "Like a Lover, Like a Song", "Just Between You and Me", "I Wouldn't Want to Lose Your Love", "Tonight is a Wonderful Time to Fall in Love", "Could Have Been a Lady", and of course, "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" ... we heard them all in Olds on July 27th!
